Michael Peters Equipment ‘Whites’ are only worn for
tournaments, matches and Club sessions. Normal leisurewear is worn at all
other times. Flat –soled footwear is essential. Hoops, pegs and balls are
provided for each lawn. The Club provides mallets free for the use of
beginners, and coaches will give advice on the size and weight of mallet you
need prior to buying. Second –hand mallets are available for sale from time
to time. Club sessions [ no handicap restrictions – in season ] There are Club sessions held
regularly throughout the season: just turn up and a game with another member
will be arranged for you. Coaching Beginners are encouraged. Coaching is
available for beginners and as a ‘taster package ‘. Extra sessions are
available throughout the year and on request. Library Books are available for
loan, free of charge. They are kept in the main clubhouse. Green fees A modest green fee is payable for
Croquet-playing non members. Affiliation The Club is in the South West
Federation. A number of our members have CA qualifications in coaching and as
referees. Tournaments We host International, National and
CA Tournaments. See CA handbook and Diary
for details. Many internal Club Tournaments take place throughout the year,
with and without handicap restriction, for a small fee. Members are given a
list and relevant forms prior to the season starting. Matches We play in many competitions and ‘friendly’
matches with other clubs regularly throughout the year. Handicaps The Croquet Association Automated
Handicapping System is used for both Association and Golf Croquet. The Handicap
Committee is responsible for adjusting as they see fit, the Association
handicap of players of more than 8. Booking of lawns Booking sheets and instructions for
