There were 26 entries
[seven from Budleigh Salterton, seven from Sidmouth, six from
Cornwall, three from Bath, two from Plymouth and one from Weston-super-Mare]
who enjoyed two days of unbroken sunshine.
The main event was a knock-out and those knocked out automatically
entered a structured Egyptian event.
Everyone played five 18 point games: three on Saturday and two on
Sunday. The winner of the knock-out was Colin Wells [Sidmouth] who beat Jenny Burrows [Cornwall] in the
final. Four players won 4 out of 5 of the Egyptian games they played so the
result was decided on “net scores”. The results
were: Winner: Des
Honey [Cornwall] with a net score of 17 Runner-up: Jeremy Wilson [Budleigh Salterton] with a net
score of 16 Third: Timothy
Cantell [Bath] with a net score of 10 Fourth: Roz
Major [Budleigh
